Time tracking via browser – on your own server

Xpert-Timer cloud consists of two components: the XTCloudServer, installed on your Windows server, and the browser app (XTWeb), through which employees make time bookings. Both components communicate via a REST API.

The XTCloudServer accesses the existing Xpert-Timer pro database directly. There is no separate data storage and no synchronisation. All bookings land immediately in your central database.

How does Xpert-Timer cloud work?

Xpert-Timer cloud is not an external cloud solution but an on-premises browser app. The XTCloudServer is set up once on your Windows server and connects to your existing Xpert-Timer Pro database.

1. Set up XTCloudServer

The XTCloudServer is installed on a Windows server in your network. It connects to your existing MS-SQL, MySQL or MariaDB database of Xpert-Timer pro.

2. Open browser app

Employees open the XTWeb browser app via the internal or external IP address of the server. No software download required. A modern browser on PC, tablet or smartphone is sufficient.

3. Record times

Via the browser app, employees book project times on clients, projects and tasks. All bookings are stored directly in the central database and are immediately visible in the desktop client.

On-premises – your infrastructure, your data

Unlike SaaS time tracking tools, Xpert-Timer cloud has no dependency on external services. The XTCloudServer runs the browser app entirely on your own hardware. Your time tracking data never leaves your company network.
